ARTIST STATEMENT
PAINTINGS WHICH CELEBRATE THE BEAUTY OF OUR NATURAL WORLD
Landscapes have always been Graham’s motivation to paint. A lifetimes interest in walking and the beauty of the British countryside, more recently the areas of Dorset, Somerset and the West Country have been a big influence on his work. Graham sees his painting as a direct response to the emotions he feels when experiencing these environments in many different seasons and times of day. For Graham a key importance within his work is capturing the effect of light passing over a space. He feels that the medium of paint allows him to capture the various tones, colours and textures created by the natural world. This allows him to create paintings which celebrate the beauty of our natural world.
